Community Staff Nurse

22.5-30 hours per week

Weekend working as part of a rota - salary dependent on experience

We are seeking a Community Staff Nurse for our District Nursing Team.  You will be based at Newport Pagnell Medical Centre but support two GP practices.  You will be a registered nurse 1st level, have minimum 2 years' post registration, be a car driver and have community experience, however, training will be offered.

The successful candidate will be employed by Newport Pagnell Medical Centre and work alongside a forward thinking, supportive integrated nursing team (health visitors, practice nurses, specialist nurses and community matrons), managed by a Lead Nurse.

This post offers the opportunity to provide innovative District Nursing Services focused on caring for housebound patients.  Our approach is holistic and evidence based in the assessment, implementation and evaluation of practice.

Minor Illness Nurse

20-30 hours per week - salary dependent on experience.

We are looking to recruit a Minor Illness Nurse to work closely with our GP colleagues for 20-30 hours per week. The hours of work will be a range of shifts between the hours of 0800 hours and 1830 hours Monday to Friday.  

The Minor Illness Nurse will deliver 4-5 Minor Illness clinics per week, providing assessment, treatment, screening, health education services and advice to patients.  As a qualified prescriber the nurse will be encouraged to pursue CPD to qualify as a Nurse Practitioner.  The Nurse will have experience and competence in managing a General Practice caseload - including chronic case management, dealing with minor illness and injury and experience in diagnosing, prescribing and referring.
